Wooden Christmas Tree DIY
Supplies:
•8 pieces scrap wood (2x4s or something close to that size I used some a little wider and a little skinnier as well)
•Gorilla Glue or other type of strong bonding wood glue
•wood saw
•sander or sanding paper (optional)
•measuring tape
•pen or marker
•paint or stain- I used white paint and natural colored wood stain (optional)
•spray weather sealant for wood (optional)
1.) Measure out and cut the wood pieces you will need the following lengths
for the base- 40 in.
for the limbs -
Bottom (longest) to top (shortest)
26 in.
21 1/2 in.
18 in.
15 1/2 in.
10 in.
6 1/2 in.
3 1/2 in.
2.) cut off each end diagonally to give it the pointed slanted tree ends.
3.)(optional) paint and/or stain the pieces of wood - allow to fully dry
4.) glue the limb pieces in order on tree base (see attached picture) from top to bottom from measurements above - allow to fully dry
5.) use sander to take some of the paint off of the wood to give it the ages look also sand to smooth the edges
6.) spray with weather resistant spray and let dry fully
